She’s a character that formed the trio that lasts throughout the seasons. Hibiki was the perfect main character for this type of series. LolĬharacters themselves showed a lot of promise. My only complaint is there’s not a lot of Bike action for Tsubasa. She kicks, and uses her machine guns as her melee and primary weapons. Chris has the most close-combat scenes in this season. She slowly evolves into the punch girl we all know and love. It parallels with her struggles of finding a better outcome. Hibiki clunky fights in the first half of the season emphasize how she has a lack of experience. If season 1 was a bit longer, not saying a full 24-26 episodes, maybe a 19 episode runtime or around that, it could’ve expanded on a lot of things.įight choreography, it holds up. The Gears had a nice overall aesthetic that doesn’t get clustered as much as later designs (even including XDU). Hibiki and Chris being the best ones (Lavender Chris is best, fight me), Tsubasa a good one in her own right. XV is highly regarded as the best season and I agree that it has the best moments (episode 4, 7-9, 11-13, etc.) but as for the entire season as a whole, AXZ is still why I am so deeply fond of Symphogear even after all this time.Ĭall it personal preference, but i pretty much prefer the cleaner/simplistic designs of season 1. The villains were very weak this time around with little to no buildup for the latter one and questionable motivations and actions for our main villain trio. XV upped the animation quality again, the songs were great and episode 4 was my favorite episode in the whole season because it featured my favorite character of all time once more (spoilers). Nothing more needs to be said, what an absolute masterpiece of a season. The villains were the best in the series, but Adam was the part I had the most problems with. The animation got very good this season.ĪXZ… Where do I even start. GX was pretty weird in the storytelling department as Carols motivations came of as weak in the start and they introduced an absolute bruh moment of a character later on. G was pretty inconsistent and Ver was the saving grace of that season. Finé was pretty meh as well but I enjoyed S1. My only gripes with S1 was the animation quality and the engrish.
